WHAT IS IT?

Jodi wanted to explore why, when things go awry, the answer is so often, “that was not my intention.” How do we meet certain objectives without fulfilling our core intentions? What goes wrong along the way? 

Call it a framework or a philosophy, Intentification® is all about being mindful in order to understand what is influencing an intention.

There are underlying influencers behind each of our intentions: values, beliefs, human needs, emotions, ancestral wisdom, intersectionality, and lived experiences that impact our current ways of working and our desired changes.

Inspired by Theory of Change and Theory of Action, these elements impact which actions are taken and what outcomes are achieved. Taking the time to understand why you want to achieve a specific outcome brings newfound awareness and mindfulness to the problem area before you begin executing a plan—so that you can ensure you’re executing the right one.

How does it work?

Through a series of questions, clients are encouraged to identify what’s really behind their current objective. Jodi then pressure tests the outcomes and results you think you’re aiming to achieve, in order to determine if your core intention will be met. 

For instance, a client may say that their intention is to increase employee engagement. Jodi will pose a number of questions to better understand what influencers are driving this intention. Is it their own lived experience as a disengaged employee? Is it a social pressure to remain competitive in the current talent landscape? 

By grounding all of our work in Intentification®, and being honest with ourselves about why we want to accomplish certain things, we can achieve the same success and feel greater personal satisfaction.
